Spring Beer Jam 12: Full Details

Spring Beer Jam 12 is upon us! 

Here's a breakdown of everything you need to know.

Music Schedule:

Thursday - March 26th @ 8pm

Mike Dillon & Punkadelick


Mike Dillon & Punkadelick is an avant-garde, "punk-jazz" trio led by percussionist/vibraphonist Mike Dillon, known for blending high-energy punk rock, funk, and Zappa-esque eccentricity with complex jazz improvisation. Featuring Brian Haas (keys/Moog) and Nikki Glaspie (drums), they create an intense, genre-bending, and hypnotic groove-driven sound.
 



 

Friday - March 27th

7:15pm in the Pub: 

The Organ Trail


The Organ Trail is a Hammond B3 Organ group led by keyboardist Austin Llewellyn & guitarist Kirk Yates. Joined by drummer Tim Adger, they blend high-energy jazz improvisation with standards and classics. Founded and only found at Dunedin Brewery, where they perform on our 1950's house Hammod B3 & Leslie.



Friday at 8:30pm in Moon Tower: 

Movie Props


Movie Props is from Inglewood, Florida-based, two-piece percussive band featuring Rhodes piano. They are characterized by a unique, rhythm-driven sound, likely blending percussion with other musical elements to create a distinctive, experimental, or indie vibe.



Friday at 9:30pm in the Pub: 

Funkin' Grateful (2 sets)


Funkin' Grateful is a South Florida-based jam band that reimagines the music of the Grateful Dead with a heavy, dance-oriented, funk-infused twist. Comprised of veterans from bands like The Heavy Pets, Fusik, and Unlimited Devotion, they blend classic rock, 60s/70s funk, and deep, improvisational jams.



Friday at 10pm in the Moon Tower: 

Pipe Dreamer


Pipe Dreamer is a doom/post-metal band based in Dunedin, Florida, formed in 2018. They are known for creating a deeply emotional, atmospheric, and heavy sound, blending sludge metal, post-metal, and doom-based, slow-tempo riffs, often featuring both harsh and clean vocals.



 

Saturday - March 28th

4pm in the Beer Garden: 

Jon Ditty's Shuffle (dj set)


Jon Ditty is an active Dunedin resident who typically is found rapping with a microphone in his hand, or performing with his duo Stick & Ditty. This performance at Spring Beer Jam features Ditty as selector, choosing our playlist for a couple hours in our beer garden to set the vibe.



Saturday at 5:30pm in Moon Tower: 

Yacht Lava

Yacht Lava is a South Florida-based tribute band specializing in "yacht rock" (smooth, 70s-80s soft rock) hits. Featuring members of The Heavy Pets & Fusik they perform popular, high-energy, feel-good music at venues across South FL.
 



Saturday at 7pm in The Pub:  

Brain Emoji x Mike Dillon


Brain Emoji is an improvisational, genre-fluid post-jam band known for "ritual chaos" live shows blending post-rock, ambient electronica, and experimental trap jazz. Formed in 2018 by Joe Marcinek and Mike Bryant, the band features Vinny Svoboda and Jamie Newitt, creating music that ranges from atmospheric to chaotic.

Mike Dillon is a highly eclectic and virtuosic American percussionist, vibraphonist, and vocalist known as a "punk jazz provocateur". He blends punk rock energy, funk, and avant-garde jazz, often playing complex, high-energy, and often improvised music with his own bands and as a collaborator with artists like Les Claypool and Ani DiFranco.

This set will feature Brain Emoji joined by Mike Dillon.

Saturday at 9pm in the Moon Tower: 

The Heavy Pets (2 sets)


The Heavy Pets are a Florida-based American jam band known for a high-energy blend of rock & roll, funk, reggae, and jazz. Formed in 2005, they are recognized for their songwriting, melodic guitar work, and improvisational live performances. The group often incorporates elements of indie rock and, at times, Southern rock.



Saturday at 9pm in the Pub:

Sunday - March 29th

4:30pm in the Beer Garden: Joe Marcinek Trio


Joe Marcinek is a collaborative, improvisational guitarist and songwriter leading the Joe Marcinek Band (JMB), known for blending funk, soul, jazz fusion, and blues with jam-band sensibilities. He is recognized for featuring a rotating, all-star lineup of musicians for each show and album, often creating a unique, one-time-only experience. 

For this show, he will be joined by Vinny Svoboda (of Anthill Cinema) & Jamie Newitt (of The Heavy Pets).



Sunday at 6:17pm on The Moon Tower stage: 

J.R. & Friends featuring Oteil Burbridge, 

Rev. Jeff Mosier, members of Anthill Cinema, 

& Ryan Gregg

JR is currently on the run from the law after being sued for not finishing a song and fleeing arrest during his last show with Anthill Cinema in July of 2021. JR has also been seen on stage with Oteil & Friends and Toy Factory Project since fleeing arrest in Missouri 

Oteil Burbridge is a highly acclaimed American bassist and multi-instrumentalist best known for his 17-year tenure with The Allman Brothers Band and his role in Dead & Company. A two-time Grammy-nominated musician, he is recognized for his work in jazz, funk, and rock, including founding the Aquarium Rescue Unit. 

"Reverend" Jeff Mosier is a renowned Scruggs-style banjo player and a pioneer of the "jamgrass" genre, blending traditional bluegrass with rock and roll. Founder of the band Blueground Undergrass and The Mosier Brothers, he is heavily associated with the Atlanta music scene, often performing with Col. Bruce Hampton.

Anthill Cinema is an experimental fusion collective based in St. Petersburg, Florida, known for a unique, "delightfully weird" blend of progressive rock, jazz fusion, and cinematic, instrumental film score music. They are recognized for their high-energy, eclectic, and, at times, improvised sound.

Ryan Gregg is an Asbury Park, New Jersey-based pianist, singer-songwriter, composer, and producer known for his work in American roots, rhythm and blues, and soul music. He is the lead singer and songwriter for Ocean Avenue Stompers and his music has been feautred on Comedy Central & PBS.
