Playing Music at the Dunedin Brewery

For over 5 years the brewery has hosted artists from across the globe to our own backyard covering countless genres and appealing to tons of different people who like to support independent music.

We try our best to offer our guests an eclectic mix of music focusing mainly on original music, however we are open to a lot of things but there are a few that we just aren't looking to feature. Some examples of this are:

• Cover Bands, if your band only plays music from other bands chances are you are better off in a larger club where the crowd just wants the background music. We do from time to time book tribute bands, but it depends on authenticity.
• Country Music, if you do not know what we mean by this refer to the CMT website. We do love Bluegrass, Alt-Country, and other twangy music but our crowd just doesn't seem to respond to popular country music.
• Rap, sorry just not our style, we have featured some Hip-Hop but a live stage show is important so any Hip-Hop acts should be backed by a live band.
• Punk/Hard Rock, we do a few shows per year such as our yearly "Ramone's Tribute" but otherwise we are not looking to book except for those few special events.

..and that is about it, we love music even some mentioned above however in keeping with our vision and guests we have to book music based on their prefrences.

How to go about booking at the brewery...

There is really only ONE way. EMAIL US at booking@dunedinbrewery.com

This is the only way we select booking submissions, please do not:

• call the brewery we are busy making beer or serving it to our guests our "booking agent" is not around for you to speak with nor do they have the time to call you back if they are not familiar with you or your band.

• stop by expecting to book at date or talk with anyone who can help with you in booking a date. Most likely you will encounter a bartender or brewer who has no clue how booking is done.

We will accept CD's and other promo material from the brewery however we really prefer if you email us links to your sonicbids, myspace, website, etc. so we can see not only your music but also how you promote yourself.

If/When you are booked for a date, the more you do to promote the show the better you will do overall for future bookings, pay, etc.. The brewery will put you on the website and advertise the dates through it's mass emails, website, and allowing posters to be placed in the brewery in the weeks prior to the show.
